From Raindrops to Taps: Teaching Kids Where Water Comes From

Date created 15.12.2025

Within the PoVE Water project, we place strong emphasis on raising awareness of the water sector and inspiring the next generation to take an interest. We bring new young people into the water sector by improving awareness during our visits to the kindergartens and schools to highlight why water matters and to show, step by step, how clean drinking water reaches our homes.
On 10 December, together with representatives of EVEL, we visited another kindergarten to explore the water cycle and the role water plays in everyday life. The children were full of curiosity, listened attentively, shared what they already knew, and asked thoughtful questions. To make the topic even more hands-on and fun, we also built small “pipe people” together from water pipes—an activity that brought plenty of laughter while supporting creativity and logical thinking.

We believe water awareness starts early. When children understand where clean water comes from and how it reaches the tap, they are more likely to value it—and use it wisely—as they grow. These visits are a strong reminder of how important it is to build respect for water from a young age. We will continue organising similar sessions to bring water knowledge to even more children and students.
